CSA 2008 will only work with SMTP (sometimes knows as POP) email. A free email service like with Yahoo will not work unless you upgrade to their premium email. GMAIL, I believe, works since you can have an SMTP account. Here's a good test--if you can access your email through Outlook Express or through Microsoft Mail (on Vista) it will work. Matter of fact, you can get all of these setting from viewing your account in outlook express or Mail.
EMAIL: Your email address
SMTP SERVER: The server for your outgoing email.
USER NAME: Your user name with your email (usually your email address)
PASSWORD: Your password for email.
PORT: Some emails require ports (you can get this by looking at your account in outlook express for example)
LOG ON USING...: If your email requires this, check it (mine doesn't)
MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHORIZATION: Mine does--yours probably does too.
