IMPORTANT NOTE! ONLY FOLLOW THESE STEPS IF YOUR BUILD VERSION IS 1.x.x EARLIER THAN 3/2/08 like 1.0.2 2/15/08. If you are at least 2.x.x 3/2/08 then CLICK HERE and follow these steps to update.
I am constantly working to fix bugs and improve CSA 2008. This involves a process of downloading the newest version and updating your computer. First, though, you must back up your data. Please read through this tutorial and make sure you understand it before attempting to update. You could lose your data if you make one small move.
In order to insure that you are using the newest version of CSA 2008, run the program and look at the build version and date on the lower left hand corner of the screen.
It should read 2.0.4 4/9/08. That is the newest version.
Please follow the following steps exactly. They are on Windows Vista but XP is very similar.
Step 1: Double click COMPUTER or MY COMPUTER.
Step 2: Double click Local Disk C
Step 3: Double click PROGRAM FILES
Step 4: Double click WWW.CARSALESASSISTANT.COM
Step 5: Double Click CAR SALES ASSISTANT 2008
Step 6: IMPORTANT STEP!!! Left click your DATA folder and drag it onto your desktop. Repeat with your LETTERS folder. You should now not see those folders in the CAR SALES ASSISTANT 2008 folder but rather on the desktop. Close the CAR SALES ASSISTANT 2008 window by clicking the X on the upper right hand of the screen.
Step 7: You must now uninstall CSA 2008 so that you can reinstall it fresh. Go to START and click CONTROL PANEL.
Step 8: If using Vista, click UNINSTALL A PROGRAM. Or it may be ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM in XP.
Step 9: Click CAR SALES ASSISTANT 2008 and then click UNINSTALL. Follow the steps.
Step 10: Download and Install the newest version of CSA 2008.
Step 11: Repeat Steps 1-6 but don't drag from your folder to your desktop but rather from the desktop to your folder. It will ask you if you want to replace files. Click Yes.
Step 12: You should now have the newest version! Please follow these steps if you need to license the software. Let me know if it is for a trial or if you have already purchased.
