You can use the built in word processor to create your letters or you can use a commercial one as long as you save the letters in your LETTERS folder and save them in RICH TEXT FORMAT (RTF.) If you use a commercial one, feel free to add graphics, etc.
When you create your
letters, you use
TAGS so the database can fill in the blanks for your letters.
Here are the tags supported in CSA 2008. Keep in
mind, they
are all lowercase. <firstname> works but
<Firstname>
or <FIRSTNAME> does not.
<firstname>: Your customers firstname. If there are co-buyers and they share the same last name, it will show like Bill & Betty. Also, if one gets deceased, their name will not import into the <firstname> tag.
<lastname>: Customer's last name.
<address> <city> <state> <zip>: Self explainatory.
<year> <make> <model>: the year, make and model of the vehicle they want to buy (if they are unsold) or that they did buy (if they are sold.)
<date>: The date that the letter is printed.
<salespersonname> <salespersonphone> <salespersonemail>: Values you can set in your SETTINGS.
